Breeding

We offer a variety of POA stallions!

Choose from a Loud Palomino Leopard or a Sorrel Few Spot.

Mare Care Fees:

  • $8/day Dry
  • $10/day Wet

Fee shall be due for each day Mare/foal is on the Stallion’s property.  Full day fee due for date of arrival, no fees on date of departure.  Fee will include Grass Hay, Complete pellets available on request or you can supply your mare's usual grain and or supplements.  We like to keep the mares outside as much as our Oregon weather will allow.  Meaning if its too cold at night, too hot during the day or raining they will come into the barn and be privately stalled.  Stalls are cleaned daily, water buckets cleaned weekly unless they need it sooner.

In order for your mare's time here to be well spent please do the following:

  • Thin mares are hard to settle. Have your mare gaining weight during the breeding season—especially if she has a foal at her side.
  • Have your mare wormed before delivering her to the breeding farm.
  • Make sure her vaccinations are up to date.
  • Unless she needs shoes, it's best that she be barefooted.
  • Deliver a copy of your mare's registration certificates to the farm along with the mare to ensure accurate and timely record keeping.

Our primary method of breeding is by hand.  Occasionally we pasture breed if the mare will allow it.  Our stallions are complete gentlemen and have never hurt a mare or foal.  If you prefer one way or the other please let us know when you bring your mare to the farm.  Mares are welcome and encouraged to stay until they receive their 15 day ultrasound confirming pregnancy.
